Potty Traning!

I just saw that Tami beat me to the Potty Traning post! Good job Khloe! Tami and I potty trained our kids the same week I think. Anyway, 2 weeks ago I was changing Alec's morning diaper and I decided to just put underwear on him. He, of course, had several accidents that day but by the next day we were getting the hang of it a bit more and by day four he wasn't having any accidents! DONE! Or so we thought... he did have a couple of number 2 setbacks the next week (SOOO NOT fun) but they were also resolved by the end of the week and now he is fully potty tranined! No more diapers!! I can't believe it! Of course I now have two kids wearing pull-ups at night and not entirely sure how to get over that hump... but I can deal with that. Way to go ALEC! We are so proud.

The End of 2008

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are looking forward to the new year! We had a busy and fun holiday season here! We are also really looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us in 2009... we know it is going to be big and exciting! So stayed tune! I know I haven't been keeping up with the blog very regularly but I am trying to make up for it by doing a bunch of posts when I do get around to sitting down and writing... well, mostly posting pictures, not so much writing! Snow Play at Palomar Mtn.

December 28th we took a drive up to Palomar mountain to check out the snow. It isn't the easiest place to just go and stop... there are people pulled over all over the place and it is kind of hard to find a good spot... but we managed to stop and get out for a little while. The snow was mostly hard and slippery which was good when we found a plastic lid someone had left behind and put the kids on it pushed them down the hill! They thought it was great as long as we carried them up and down the hill and they didn't have to climb themselves. It was a beautiful day and not that cold. We were all pretty wet when we left and hungry so we drove down the other side of the mountain and went to the Lake Henshaw Cafe for lunch and had sandwiches. It was definitely a nice family day together.

Christmas Day!

We had a wonderful Christmas day! It was a Christmas miracle that our kids actually slept in until 8:00!! That is totally unheard of... Aidan is usually out of bed by 6:30 sometimes 7:00... I, of course was awake at 4:00 and couldn't go back to sleep... when do you grow out of that? Anyway, before they even came downstairs Oma and PopPop showed up! We started opening some presents while I made breakfast and then Nonna and Poppa arrived about an hour or so later. It was really nice just being at home and the kids got to have both sets of grandparents all to themselves all Christmas morning! After the grandparents left we hung out for awhile and then we headed down to Ty and Lisa's place for the rest of the afternoon to be with them and play Wii with the cousins! We had a delicious enchilada dinner! Oh, and we kind of raked in the loot this year! My mom was overly generous... and it was fabulous! I got a Coach purse, Coach perfume, a beautiful new photo printer and scanner, a Body bugg, a couple of jackets and a sweater, Wii Fit to use on the Wii system she got the boys, Anthony got a GPS navigation device and 2 years to 24 hour fitness, base boards for the house! Anthony got me a great camera that will fit in my purse, and he picked out these really beautiful UGG boots!

Inland Hills Community Church Christmas Eve service in a Barn

Our Christmas Eve service for church was held in a barn! Well, really it is a huge garage, but it was transformed into a barn... with miniature donkeys and a goat! We sat on bales of hay and sang Christmas carols while listening to the sotry of the very first Christmas that took place in another barn, in another place and in a different time... but has meaning for all of us in our time and place. It was a wonderful way to remember our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We throraoughly enjoyed spending the special time with our new church family.

Neighborhood/Small Group Christmas Party

On December 15th we got together with a bunch of our friends for our annual holiday dinner and White Elephant gift exchange... always a fun and hilarious time!

Adoption Center Christmas Party

On December 13th we went to the annual Adoption center Christmas party that Sarah Jensen hosts... she is the woman who does all of the adoptions for ACSD. We didn't go last year since Anthony was sick with the MRSA! We weren't sure if we would even no one anyone there... but some friends of ours from our neighborhood who also adopted through Sarah were there and another couple we met back when we were waiting for Aidan were there and that was fun to catch up and see how their families were doing.

THANKSGIVING

We drove out to Palm Springs to have Thanksgiving at my Aunt Cindy's and to see my grandma who has been having some health issues lately. Ty and Lisa and the boys, my Mom, and the whole Lamb family were there. Unfortunately, Grandma was not well enough to leave the care facility she was in to come to the house and have dinner with us. We did drive out to see her though and she seemed to be in good spirits... we even brought her a little plate of appetizers! We had a wonderful dinner prepared by my talented cousins.
